Sets out a method for measuring the rate of loss of styrene from contact moulded materials and to define what constitutes a low styrene emission resin.

Scope

This Standard describes a method for measuring the rate of loss of styrene from contact moulded materials using unsaturated polyester and vinyl ester resins and glass fibre chopped strand mats, with a surface open to the atmosphere.
For the purpose of this Standard, low styrene emission (LSE) resins is taken to mean resins producing styrene emissions of less than 20 g/m2in 60 min.
