The iodine liberated is titrated with a standard volumetric sodium thiosulfate solution. The method is applicable to the analysis of polyethoxylated derivatives of primary saturated fatty alcohols, oleyl alcohol, satureted fatty acids, straight and branched chain alkylphenols.
