This Standard specifies requirements for thimbles that are suitable for use with Grade 1770, galvanized or ungalvanized, round strand, equal lay, 6 ( 36 or 6 ( 19 construction groups Seale-Warrington IWRC steel wire ropes.
Thimbles suitable or higher capacity wire ropes are included.
NOTES:
1 This Standard does not prevent the use of these or other types of thimble with fibre rope.
2 Guidance on information that should be supplied with enquiries and orders is given in Appendix A.
