Specifies the method for determining the fibre length after carding waste of scoured or carbonised wool.
Scope
This Interim Standard applies to scoured or carbonised wool and sets out the method for determining the level of card waste produced during the LAC Length test. The method covers the following wool types:
(a) All carbonised wool.
(b) All scoured wool with a vegetable matter base of <= 2.0%.
(c) If the vegetable content is not known, all scoured wool produced from greasy wool that has a measured or appraised vegetable matter base of <= 1.0%.
The procedures for sampling and for the preparation of the wool before measurement are also described.
