Deals with the safety of portable electric immersion heaters for household and similar purposes, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V. The principal change in this edition as compared with the 2005 edition of AS/NZS 60335.2.74 is an added New Zealand and Australian National Variation clarifying that immersion heaters that maintain a liquid at a set temperature are tested as specified for appliances intended to prevent water from freezing in animal troughs (clause AZ.5.101). This edition will supersede the 2005 edition on 29 June 2020. Adopted with national modifications from, and includes the text of, IEC 60335-2-74 Ed 2.2.
