DIN 58953-7 applies to the packaging, marking and loading of sterilisation chambers of/with sterilised goods, which are packed in paper bags according to DIN EN 868-4, in sealable transparent bags and tubes made of porous materials and plastic composite film according to DIN EN 868-5, with smooth sterilisation paper, creped sterilisation paper and non-woven fabric according to DIN EN 868-2 or using combinations of the aforementioned materials and prefabricated sterile barrier systems. Logistics (delivery, storage, commissioning, transport and provision) of sterile medical devices are not covered in this document, but in DIN 58953-8. The application of DIN 58953-7 together with DIN EN ISO 11607-1, DIN EN ISO 11607-2 and DIN 58953-8 ensures that medical devices, such as instruments and sets, can be perfectly packaged and handled in a sterile barrier system in healthcare facilities and their service operations.
