Dieser Teil der ISO 6743 enthält das allgemeine Klassifikations-System für Schmierstoffe, Industrieöle und verwandte Erzeugnisse, gekennzeichnet durch den Vorsatz-Buchstaben "L". Die Klasse L besteht aus 18 Familien, denen die Erzeugnisse entsprechend ihrer Anwendung so zugeordnet sind, dass – soweit wie möglich – alle Anwendungsfälle für Schmieröle, Industrieöle und verwandte Produkte erfasst sind. Die ins Einzelne gehende Klassifikation jeder Familie wird in anderen Teilen der ISO 6743 vorgenommen. Die Klassifikation betrifft nur Erzeugnisse im Anlieferungszustand.*Inhaltsverzeichnis
