La présente partie de l'ISO 8573 fournit des lignes directrices pour la sélection des méthodes appropriées, parmi
celles disponibles, applicables au mesurage de l'humidité de l'air comprimé, et spécifie les limites des différentes
méthodes.
Elle ne donne pas de méthode de mesurage de l'eau autre qu'à l'état de vapeur.
Cette partie de l'ISO 8573 spécifie les méthodes d'échantillonnage, le mesurage, l'évaluation, des informations
concernant l'incertitude, et la présentation des paramètres de l'humidité de l'air.
Elle donne un guide pour la conversion des indications de caractérisation de l'humidité à une forme normalisée.
