This Standard specifies an atomic absorption spectrometric method for the determination of the aluminium content in iron and steel, which is used for the determination of acid-soluble aluminium.
The method is applicable to acid-soluble aluminium contents (mass fraction) in carbon steel and low alloy steel of 0.005% or over up to and including 0.10 %.
NOTE: The International Standard corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows.
ISO 9658: 1990 Steel-Determination of aluminium content-Flame atomic absorption spectrometric method (MOD)
In addition, symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/ lEC Guide 21-1.
