Préface

Ce document constitue la troisième édition de CSA C804, Performances énergétiques des distributeurs automatiques de boissons refroidies en canette et en bouteille. Il remplace les éditions précédentes publiées en 2009 et 1996 et intitulées Performances énergétiques des distributeurs automatiques.

Cette norme précise les niveaux de consommation d’énergie quotidienne maximale pour les distributeurs automatiques et offre une méthode uniformisée destinée à vérifier la conformité à cette exigence.

Cette norme tient compte des essais et des évaluations de l’efficacité énergétique des distributeurs automatiques de boissons refroidies en canette et en bouteille, précisés dans la publication intitulée « Title 10 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Part 431, subpart Q » du Department of Energy (DOE) des États-Unis, publiée le 31 juillet 2015, dans le cadre de l’initiative du Conseil États-Unis-Canada de coopération en matière de réglementation.

Domaine d’application

1.1

Cette norme énonce les exigences relatives à la performance énergétique des distributeurs automatiques qui refroidissent activement des boissons individuelles en bouteille, en canette ou dans un autre contenant hermétique.

1.2

Cette norme énonce

a) des méthodes uniformisées de mesure de la consommation d’énergie;

b) des niveaux de consommation d’énergie quotidienne maximale; et

c) le calcul du volume de réfrigération, de la capacité de distribution et de la surface.

1.3

Cette norme vise les distributeurs automatiques de classe A, de classe B, de classe mixte A et de classe mixte B, selon les définitions énoncées à l’article 3.

1.4

Dans cette norme, le terme « doit » indique une exigence, c’est-à-dire une prescription que l’utilisateur doit respecter pour assurer la conformité à la norme; « devrait » indique une recommandation ou ce qu’il est conseillé, mais non obligatoire de faire; et « peut » indique une possibilité ou ce qu’il est permis de faire.

Les notes qui accompagnent les articles ne comprennent pas de prescriptions ni de recommandations. Elles servent à séparer du texte les explications ou les renseignements qui ne font pas proprement partie de la norme.

Preface

This is the third edition of CAN/CSA-C804, Energy performance of refrigerated bottled or canned beverage vending machines. It supersedes the previous editions published in 2009 and 1996 under the title Energy performance of vending machines.

This Standard specifies maximum daily energy consumption for vending machines and provides a uniform procedure to test compliance.

This Standard has taken into consideration testing and evaluating the energy efficiency of refrigerated bottled or canned beverage vending machines specified in the United States Department of Energy (DOE) publication Title 10 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Part 431, subpart Q as published on July 31, 2015, per the Canadian-U.S. Regulatory Cooperation Council (RCC) initiative.

CSA gratefully acknowledges the financial contributions of Natural Resources Canada, BC Hydro, Manitoba Hydro, Nova Scotia Department of Energy, EfficiencyOne, and Sask Power towards the development of this Standard.

Scope

1.1

This Standard specifies energy performance requirements for self-contained, refrigerated bottled, or canned beverage vending machines that actively cool bottled, canned, or other sealed refrigerated beverages.

1.2

This Standard specifies

a) uniform procedures for measuring energy consumption;

b) maximum daily energy consumption levels; and

c) refrigerated volume, vending capacity, and surface area calculation.

1.3

This Standard applies to Class A, Class B, Combination A, and Combination B vending machines, as defined in Clause 3.

1.4

In this Standard, shall is used to express a requirement, i.e., a provision that the user is obliged to satisfy in order to comply with the standard; should is used to express a recommendation or that which is advised but not required; and may is used to express an option or that which is permissible within the limits of the Standard.

Notes accompanying clauses do not include requirements or alternative requirements; the purpose of a note accompanying a clause is to separate from the text explanatory or informative material.

Notes to tables and figures are considered part of the table or figure and may be written as requirements.

Annexes are designated normative (mandatory) or informative (non-mandatory) to define their application.
