ASTM A500<\/h4>\n

Scope<\/strong><\/p>\n

1.1 This specification covers cold-formed welded and seamless carbon steel round, square, rectangular, or special shape structural tubing for welded, riveted, or bolted construction of bridges and buildings, and for general structural purposes.<\/p>\n

1.2 This tubing is produced in both welded and seamless sizes with a periphery of 64 in. (1626 mm) or less, and a specified wall thickness of 0.625 in. (15.88 mm) or less. Grade D requires heat treatment.<\/p>\n

Note 1\u2014Products manufactured to this specification may not be suitable for those applications such as dynamically loaded elements in welded structures, etc., where low-temperature notch-toughness properties may be important.<\/p>\n

1.3 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses are mathematical conversions of the values in inch-pound units to values in SI units.<\/p>\n
