Scope<\/strong><\/p>\n 1.1<\/span> This test method describes procedures for measuring reaction rates and fast-neutron fluences by the activation reaction 32<\/sup>S(n,p)32<\/sup>P.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n 1.2<\/span> This activation reaction is useful for measuring neutrons with energies above approximately 3 MeV.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n 1.3<\/span> With suitable techniques, fission-neutron fluences from about 5\u2009\u00d7\u2009108<\/sup> to 1016<\/sup> n\/cm 2<\/sup> can be measured.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n 1.4<\/span> Detailed procedures for other fast-neutron detectors are described in Practice E261<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n 1.5<\/span> This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use.
