{"id":319305,"date":"2024-10-19T22:03:59","date_gmt":"2024-10-19T22:03:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/uncategorized\/bs-61371982\/"},"modified":"2024-10-25T20:22:47","modified_gmt":"2024-10-25T20:22:47","slug":"bs-61371982","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/publishers\/bsi\/bs-61371982\/","title":{"rendered":"BS 6137:1982"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This British Standard specifies requirements for electroplated coatings of tin\/lead alloys with a nominal composition of 60 % of tin and actual tin content in the range 55 % to 70 % by mass of tin.<\/p>\n<p>These coatings are intended for use on ferrous and non-ferrous basis metals and also on printed circuit boards.<\/p>\n<p>A classification scheme is included by which the nature of the basis metal and the coating composition can be defined and which also contains provision for flow-melting and bright deposited coatings.<\/p>\n<p>This standard specifies no requirements for the condition, finish or surface roughness of the basis material before electroplating (see <b>A.3.1<\/b>).<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>NOTE Attention is drawn to BS 9760, which specifies capability approval procedure and rules for printed circuits of assessed quality.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>This standard does not apply to:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>threaded components (see BS 3382-5);<\/li>\n<li>tin\/lead coated copper wire (see BS 4393);<\/li>\n<li>bearing overlays;<\/li>\n<li>terne plate;<\/li>\n<li>electroplating of steels with tensile strengths greater than 1 000 MPa (see note to clause <b>7<\/b>).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Essential and additional information to be supplied to the manufacturer, classification of service conditions and coatings.
