This document specifies the requirements and test methods for the safety and efficiency of gas fired air heaters with or without a fan to assist the transportation of combustion air and\/or flue gases, hereafter referred to as “appliances”.<\/p>\n

This document also applies to warm air heaters having forced draught burners.<\/p>\n

This document applies to Type A2, A3 appliances, with an input not exceeding 300 kW (net CV basis), intended for non-domestic use.<\/p>\n

This document also applies to Type B11<\/sub>, B11AS<\/sub>, B11BS<\/sub>, B12<\/sub>, B12AS<\/sub>, B12BS<\/sub>, B13<\/sub>, B13AS<\/sub>, B13BS<\/sub>, B14<\/sub>, B14AS<\/sub>, B14BS<\/sub>, B22<\/sub>, B23<\/sub>, B41<\/sub>, B41AS<\/sub>, B41BS<\/sub>, B42<\/sub>, B42AS<\/sub>, B42BS<\/sub>, B43<\/sub>, B43AS<\/sub>, B43BS<\/sub>, B44<\/sub>, B44AS<\/sub>, B44BS<\/sub>, B52<\/sub>, B53<\/sub>, C11<\/sub>, C12<\/sub>, C13<\/sub>, C21<\/sub>, C31<\/sub>, C32<\/sub>, C33<\/sub>, C41<\/sub>, C62<\/sub> and C63<\/sub> appliances with an input not exceeding 300 kW (net CV basis), intended for domestic and non-domestic use.<\/p>\n

Provision of the heated air may be by means of ducting.<\/p>\n

This document does not apply to:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. \n

    dual purpose air conditioning appliances (heating and cooling);<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    appliances where the air is heated by an intermediate fluid;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  3. \n

    portable or transportable forced convection appliances;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  4. \n

    appliances fitted with manual or automatic means of adjusting the combustion products evacuation by means of flue dampers;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  5. \n

    appliances having multiple heating units with a single draught diverter;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  6. \n

    appliances fitted with more than one flue outlet;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  7. \n

    appliances fitted with gas boosters;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  8. \n

    C21<\/sub> and C41<\/sub> appliances for 3rd family gases.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    NOTE For C41<\/sub> appliances, see all requirements and test methods that are valid for C21 appliances, unless otherwise stated.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

    This document is not intended to cover appliances projected for connection to gas grids where the quality of the distributed gas is likely to vary to a large extent over the lifetime of the appliance.<\/p>\n
