This is the second edition of ASSE 1037\/ASME A112.1037\/CSA B125.37, Performance requirements for pressurized flushing devices for plumbing fixtures<\/em>. It supersedes the previous edition published in 2015.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This Standard has been developed in compliance with Standards Council of Canada requirements for National Standards of Canada. It has been published as a National Standard of Canada by CSA Group.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This Standard was approved as an American National Standard by the American National Standards Institute on July 16, 2020.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Scope<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

1.1<\/p>\n

This Standard covers pressurized flushing devices (PFDs) intended to flush water closets, urinals, and other plumbing fixtures and specifies requirements for materials, design, methods of operation, test methods, and markings.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

1.2<\/p>\n

In this Standard, shall is used to express a requirement, i.e., a provision that the user is obliged to satisfy in order to comply with the Standard; should is used to express a recommendation or that which is advised but not required; and may is used to express an option or that which is permissible within the limits of the Standard.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Notes accompanying clauses do not include requirements or alternative requirements; the purpose of a note accompanying a clause is to separate from the text explanatory or informative material.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Notes to tables and figures are considered part of the table or figure and may be written as requirements.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Annexes are designated normative (mandatory) or informative (non-mandatory) to define their application.<\/p>\n

SI units are the units of record in Canada. In this Standard the inch\/pound units are shown in parentheses.<\/p>\n

The values stated in each measurement system are equivalent in application; however, each system is to be used independently.
