Through the CSA Technical Committee on Information Technology (TCIT), Canadians serve as the Canadian Advisory Committee (CAC) on ISO\/IEC Joint Technical Committee 1 on Information Technology (ISO\/IEC JTC1) for the Standards Council of Canada (SCC), the ISO member body for Canada and sponsor of the Canadian National Committee of the IEC. Also, as a member of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Canada participates in the International Telegraph and Telephone Consultative Committee (ITU-T). <\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Scope<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>This Recommendation | International Standard specifies the framework, concepts, methodology for testing, and criteria to be achieved to claim compliance to ITU-T Rec. T.800 | ISO\/IEC 15444-1. It provides a framework for specifying abstract test suites and for defining the procedures to be followed during compliance testing. <\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>This Recommendation | International Standard: <\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>specifies compliance testing procedures for encoding and decoding using JPEG 2000 Part 1 (ITU-T Rec. T.800 | ISO\/IEC 15444-1); <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>specifies codestreams, decoded images, and error metrics to be used with the testing procedures; <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>specifies abstract test suites; <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>provides guidance for creating an encoder compliance test. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>This Recommendation | International Standard does not include the following tests: <\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Acceptance testing: the process of determining whether an implementation satisfies acceptance criteria and enables the user to determine whether or not to accept the implementation.
