Lugs fabricated from brittle<br \/>\nmaterials are not covered by the Item.<\/p>\n<p>Section 2 of this Item states the empirical interaction formula<br \/>\nfor the calculation of the load to cause failure either by rupture<br \/>\nor maximum permissible permanent deformation of parallel-sided and<br \/>\ntapered lugs under in-plane oblique loading.
