This part of ISO\/IEC 8859 specifies a set of 183<\/p>\n
coded graphic characters identified as Latin\/Thai<\/p>\n
alphabet.<\/p>\n
This set of coded graphic characters is intended for<\/p>\n
use in data and text processing applications and<\/p>\n
also for information interchange.<\/p>\n
The set contains graphic characters used for general<\/p>\n
purpose applications in typical office environments in<\/p>\n
at least the following languages:<\/p>\n
Thai, English and Latin.<\/p>\n
Some of the characters in this set are combining<\/p>\n
characters (see clause 6).<\/p>\n
This set of coded graphic characters may be<\/p>\n
regarded as a version of an 8-bit code according to<\/p>\n
ISO\/IEC 2022 or ISO\/IEC 4873 at level 1.<\/p>\n
This part of ISO\/IEC 8859 may not be used in<\/p>\n
conjunction with any other parts of ISO\/IEC 8859. If<\/p>\n
coded characters from more than one part are to be<\/p>\n
used together, by means of code extension<\/p>\n
techniques, the equivalent coded character sets<\/p>\n
from ISO\/IEC 10367 or their corresponding G1 sets<\/p>\n
from ?ISO International Register of Coded Character<\/p>\n
Sets to be used with escape sequences', should be<\/p>\n
used instead within a version of ISO\/IEC 4873 at<\/p>\n
level 2 or level 3.<\/p>\n
The coded characters in this set may be used in<\/p>\n
conjunction with coded control functions selected<\/p>\n
from ISO\/IEC 6429. However, control functions are<\/p>\n
not used to create composite graphic symbols from<\/p>\n
two or more graphic characters (see clause 6).<\/p>\n
NOTE <\/b>? ISO\/IEC 8859 is not intended for use with<\/p>\n
Telematic services defined by ITU-T. If information coded<\/p>\n
according to ISO\/IEC 8859 is to be transferred to such<\/p>\n
services, it will have to conform to the requirements of<\/p>\n
