E.1 Rules for application
E.1.1 General
E.1.1.1 Be holder of an approval according to EN 9100 on all production sites for the products to be qualified.
E.1.1.2 Be a manufacturer who is well established in terms of his manufacturing facilities and be one who has supplied established plain bearings to European prime users for a number of years to National or Company aerospace standards and has obtained…
E.1.1.3 The manufacturer shall propose which procedure is to be applicable, to be decided upon by the ASD-CERT mandated body in connection with the preparation of the test programme.
E.2 Choice of references
36 E.3 Rules for qualification
E.3.1 If the manufacturer has not previously obtained qualification according to this standard the first metric or inch series plain bearing to be tested shall be subject to full testing (number of samples: 13).
E.3.2 To obtain the qualification of the other dimensions, the selected plain bearings should pass according to this standard:
37 E.3.3 Qualification of one plain bearing size of an EN product standard qualifies the plain bearing immediately before and the one immediately after the plain bearing in question, within the range of plain bearings indicated in the product standard.
E.3.4 To qualify on group, at least one dimension of each torque type of plain bearing should have been qualified.
E.3.5 As inch and metric series plain bearings are very similar in group 1 and 2, qualification of one metric size bearing of an EN product standard qualifies the inch size bearing in accordance with Table E.2.
E.4 Plain bearing distribution
