This is the first edition of CSA Standard Q631, Reliability, Avuilability, and Maintainability (RAM) Definitions. This Standard is based on, and is to a large extent compatible with, IEC Publication 50 (191) of the International Electrotechnical Vocabulary (IEV). It is part of the Q630 series of reliability,

availability, and maintainability (RAM) Standards.

This standard is intended to be widely used and understood by reliability specialists and nonspecialists alike. It is a general (generic) document containing the terminology relating to RAM concepts and RAM measures. These definitions may be used for contractual purposes. They supersedes those previously published in the CSA Q630 Standards.
