Description

This Standard specifies a method of verification and calibration of testing machines for determining Rockwell hardness (scales A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, K, N, T) in accordance with JIS Z 2245.

It is also applicable to portable hardness testing machines.

NOTE: The International Standard corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows.

ISO 6508-2 : 2005 Metallic materials – Rockwell hardness test – Part 2 : Verification and calibration of testing machines (scales A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, K, N, T) (MOD)

The symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents in the corresponding International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified) and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/lEC Guide 21-1.
