Scope<\/strong><\/p>\n

1.1<\/span> This test method covers the determination of the load-carrying properties of lubricating greases. Three determinations are made:<\/p>\n

1.1.1<\/span> Load-Wear Index (formerly called Mean-Hertz Load),<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

1.1.2<\/span> Weld Point, by means of the Four-Ball Extreme-Pressure (EP) Tester, and<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

1.1.3<\/span> Last nonseizure load (LNSL).<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

1.2<\/span> The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as the standard. The values in parentheses are for information only.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
