Appliances intended to be used in hotels, are also within the scope of this standard <\/p>\n<p><b>Scope<\/b><\/p>\n<p> This clause of Part 1 is replaced by the following. <br \/> This International Standard deals with the safety of electric water-bed heaters and their <br \/> associated control units, for household and similar purposes, their rated voltage being not <br \/> more than 250 V. <br \/> Appliances not intended for normal household use, but that nevertheless may be a source of <br \/> danger to the public, such as appliances intended to be used in hotels, are within the scope of <br \/> this standard. <br \/> As far as is practicable, this standard deals with the common hazards presented by <br \/> appliances that are encountered by all persons in and around the home.
