The<br \/>\nloading is derived as the sum of a mean component together with<br \/>\nbackground and resonant fluctuating components. Precalculated<br \/>\nloading factors, based on the wind model in the Series, are<br \/>\nincluded in graphical and equation form for estimation of the<br \/>\nfluctuating components. The input data necessary are discussed and,<br \/>\nwhere appropriate, approximate values are provided. A calculation<br \/>\nsheet for the method is included and its use illustrated with a<br \/>\nworked example. Comparisons are made with results obtained using<br \/>\nthe superseded method of ESDU Data Item 76001, which is found to<br \/>\nhave been slightly optimistic.
