This Part may impact CDPD subscribers and Mobile<br \/>\nEnd System (M-ESs) manufacturers.<\/p>\n<p>Applications within M-ESs often communicate with applications in<br \/>\nFixed End Systems (F-ESs) utilizing the CDPD Network as a<br \/>\ncommunications backbone.<\/p>\n<p>One of the application services that the CDPD Network should<br \/>\nprovide is the CDPD Domain Name System (DNS), which is based on the<br \/>\nInternet DNS. Use of CDPD DNS by subscribers is entirely<br \/>\noptional.<\/p>\n<p>CDPD DNS is consistent with the IAB Standards RFC<sup>1<\/sup>.<br \/>\nThis RFC recommends the use of the following RFCs for host<br \/>\nimplementations:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0[RFC-1034], <i>Domain Names &#8211; Concepts and<br \/>\nFacilities<\/i><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 [RFC-1035], <i>Domain Names &#8211; Implementation and<br \/>\nSpecification<\/i><\/p>\n<p>\u2022 [RFC-974], <i>Mail Routing md the Domain Name<br \/>\nsystem.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Implementations of the CDPD DNS name servers and resolvers<br \/>\n(described below) in the CDPD Network shall use the Internet suite<br \/>\nof protocols defined in [IS-732-311],<\/p>\n<p>1.
